The deal unites the two biggest food distributors in the country, solidifying Sysco’s position as the reigning giant in an already consolidated industry.

This is one of the scariest pieces of business news I’ve seen.  This means Sysco will now own 25% of the entire restaurant/cafeteria food distribution market, making it even tougher for the little guy or even regional businesses like Gordon Food Service here in Michigan.
